Knox County leaders break ground at the once-controversial Midway Business Park in East Knox County.

Knox County political and business leaders gathered on a brisk and blustery Tuesday morning in a field off Thorn Grove Pike to officially break ground on Midway Business Park.
The event, as Development Corp. of Knox County President and CEO Todd Napier said, could be considered the end of the beginning of the controversial project in East Knox County.
Officials estimate the business park could attract as many as 2,000 new jobs to East Knox County.
