Lawyer revives a plan to build a museum honoring American presidents in Knoxville.

Fifteen years ago, attorney Bruce Anderson and businesswoman Danni Varlan floated the idea of building a museum to honor America’s presidents in Knoxville. They held public meetings, visited with officials at Disney, hired a consultant and hosted a forum involving experts from around the country.
And then … nothing happened.
The idea fizzled out because, as Anderson said Thursday, the city would not have been able to support the museum in 2003. But, he said, it is well-equipped for the project now that downtown is booming.“We did a whole lot of work,” Anderson said. “But Knoxville just wasn’t ready. Now, 15 years later, we think it is ready.”
