Precinct Profile: Knox County #39
The Inskip neighborhood in North Knoxville leans a little Republican, but voters will opt for Democrats from time to time.

Inskip, named for the renowned 19th century Methodist camp meeting evangelist the Rev. John S. Inskip, lies just north of Interstate 640 inside the Knoxville city limits between Fountain City and Norwood. A couple of precincts make up Inskip, but this week we focus on Precinct 39.
The precinct is split by Interstate 75 and by political allegiances
The area’s commercial artery is busy Merchants Drive, and it’s bounded on the west by just-as-busy Clinton Highway. Residences tend to be smallish, mid-century two- and three-bedroom ranchers on narrow but lightly traveled streets.
