Mintha Roach, left, is retiring as president and CEO of the Knoxville Utilities Board, and Gabe Bolas II, right, is being sworn in as her successor today.
Shortly after noon today, Gabe Bolas II will stand in the boardroom of the Knoxville Utilities Board, raise his right hand and take the oath of office that will make him the new president and CEO of the utility.
Bolas replaces Mintha Roach, the first woman to head KUB, who has managed the utility through a massive rebuilding of its wastewater infrastructure and a pivot of the organization’s culture to be more customer-focused.
