The city of Knoxville is moving forward with plans to build an entrance to the Urban Wilderness at the terminus of James White Parkway, amid a dispute between Mayor Madeline Rogero and Legacy Parks Foundation Executive Director Carol Evans.
A plan that could extend from South Knoxville across the river to Morningside Park.
The city is hosting an open house at 6 p.m. today at South Doyle Middle School so the public can review the concept plans for the project, which eventually would establish a linear park stretching from Morningside Park in East Knoxville to Baker Creek Preserve and the rest of the Urban Wilderness in South Knoxville.
